Desk lamps are a necessary item to have especially when managing paperwork, and other detail oriented tasks. Desk lamps provide concentrated lighting that can be adjusted to better assist in tasks such as reading or writing.
The Canetal from Eglo has a minimalist aesthetic finished in white with chrome hardware. The base of the lamp has a push-switch to open and close the light source, and has a built in USB port for convenient recharging of electronic devices. (Available in Winnipeg, also in a satin nickel finish).
The Black Desk lamp from Satco is another great desk lamp option. The lamp has a slender design that takes minimal space but is packed with essentials. The lamp has a built in USB port for convenient recharging and also has a built-in clock with alarm, calendar, and temperature display on the base mount. The lamp is dimmable and provides three colour temperatures ranging from daylight, warm, and natural light. (Available in Kelowna, also in a white finish).
Floor lamps are great for providing more general lighting to a room while also offering task lighting for reading, writing, or sewing. Large floor lamps, such as the Trump Floor Lamp from Arteriors and the Wooden Tulip from Dimond Lighting make for great statement pieces in a room. Their large scale draws attention and adds visual interest.
Arched floor lamps, such as the Ludlow from Adesso and the Magnus from Dimond Lighting are also great statement pieces. The eyes naturally follow the arched silhouette that helps provide ambient lighting over a living (or dining room), while defining the space.
Lamps with built-in shelving units are great for those that have limited space as they offer both lighting and storage. The shelving units can be used to display small decorative pieces, picture frames, or literature.
The Trio Floor Lamp and the Stewart from Adesso are great options for a dual purpose floor lamp. The Trio Lamp is made with three pull chain switches for versatility in light output. The shelving unit are made of acrylic that add a contemporary look while giving a sense of openness. (Available in Kelowna).
The Stewart floor lamp offers much of the same features. The lamp has a linear look that contrast a neutral-toned shade with dark MDF frames and has a single light source that offer soft ambient lighting. (Available in Winnipeg).
Decorative elements add a finishing touch to a room while injecting a bit of personality. Wall clocks, mirrors, and paintings help accessorize a wall that might otherwise look incomplete.
The Kings Road from Sterling Industries (Elk Lighting) has been a popular wall clock in our Kelowna showroom. The Kings Road is made of crushed crystal encased in a clear mirror frame that helps add sparkle to a room. (Available in Kelowna and Winnipeg).
Here are a few more decorative wall clocks and mirrors that are sure to invigorate any wall space:
